Body Awareness for Mental Health

Your body is your greatest tool for emotional resilience.

Social and cultural norms have caused society to focus on purely aesthetic and physical values. This leads to tuning out the emotional and instinctual powers that every body has.

As a licensed talk therapist, I know that words have power and as a dance therapist I know that those same words only get you so far. The body can take you the rest of the way as you process emotions through its movement strengthening your mental health and enhancing your emotional capacity.

This is an opportunity for a mental health evolution, one that is currently being left on the table because people don’t realize the power of the body for mental health.

This workshop provides the structure and space for you to truly listen to your body. It will guide you into more body awareness which ultimately provides greater insight into your behaviors.

Movement is life! Your movements influence your thoughts, which influence your behavior, which makes you who you are.

Get Grounded & Set Your Intentions

Led by Kerry McGinn, PT, DPT, RYT

This workshop will start with a brief grounding exercise to bring you into your body and connect you to the present moment.

We will then flow through a yoga flow designed to open up areas of the body that need some love right now as we reset intentions and restart a new with the changing seasons.

The session will end with a meditation designed to anchor you into your current intentions and connect the mind and body.
