This is our first annual awards to recognize the incredible healthcare professionals making a difference in the healthcare community. Although we recognize there are many more that are profoundly impacting the industry, this award is our attempt to highlight some of the most noticeable professionals from several different disciplines.

The recipients of this award demonstrate what it means to be #ThrivingInHealthcare. This campaign signifies a person excelling in their work role, making a statement in their profession, and thriving in all areas of life.  #ThrivingInHealthcare doesn’t mean you are perfect – no one is. Rather, this campaign symbolizes dedication to growth and a determination to live your best life. We believe we all have a role to play to shape a better healthcare industry, and the way in which we start that is by giving ourselves the template to do so.

How are you #ThrivingInHealthcare? What lights you up about the work you do? How are you using your role to improve our industry? We want you to join in on the campaign. Share your story on social media using the hashtag and share your definition of what it means to thrive in healthcare.

What led you into healthcare?

I’ve always had a passion for helping others. As a child, I worked along side my parents in special education classrooms and saw how important it was to have people advocating and helping others. My goal as an adult was to do everything in my power to help those in need. Initially this was through through my physical therapy career and now it’s also helping my peers overcome burnout, depression and frustration from a lack of upward growth and student debt.

What’s been the most valuable lesson you’ve learned in healthcare?

That miracles can happen so never give up. I’ve worked with patients who everyone else said would never walk or go home – but they did! We would never want people to give up on us, so we should never give up on our patients.

What gets you up everyday?

The smile and laughter of the amazing veterans I get to work with everyday!

How do you use your platform to help others?

When I graduated, I felt like I had ruined my life with student loans. I battled depression and hatred toward myself as a result of my debt. Knowing that many others are in the same boat, I try to share my story to help others feel okay to open up about their financial frustrations. I know that traveling PT and choosing the right career path was the biggest thing that transformed my life so I also provide a 100% free mentorship and guidance for therapists to transition into travelers to help others pay off their loans while growing their career.  I also try to grow student loan awareness and have created a course that walks all healthcare professionals through the exact steps to pay off their loans in the cheapest, fastest and easiest way possible.
