This is a drop of insight, inspiration, or knowledge in regards to your well-being, personally and professionally.
Don’t limit your interests and activities to be exclusively about work or spiritual growth.
Open yourself up to things that interest you and allow creativity to come into your life.
You don’t always have to be growing or doing more. What you’re doing is enough.
Practice cognitive job crafting.
This refers to your view of work. This allows you to find purpose and meaning in your role. You’re shaping your views on your impact and what it means to you.
This involves making an effort to recognize the effect of your work and impact on your patients’ lives and your community.
This can help you tie to your work to a greater purpose if that feels like it’s getting lost.
Use engagement coping to cope with your stressors.
Engagement coping is associated with greater perceived control of stressors and greater internal locus of control.
This type of coping includes cognitive restructuring and acceptance. Acceptance doesn’t mean that you like the situation but it helps you to have less distress. For things outside of your control, you can use adaptive coping strategies to help soothe your distress.
Deep breathing, laughing, calling a friend, movement, journaling, and taking walks are all great coping strategies.
Light up your space.
Create a warm ambiance in your living space with string lights and candles.
This can be done after dinner as a way to help your mind, body, and soul get into cozy mode and soon transition to bed.
Don’t be shy- you can put string lights in every room! I have string lights in every room, including in my closet.
